Booking a show

The Shows calendar is where a gig goes from “we’re free that night” to “we’re playing, here’s the bill.” Every show is a booking you move through a few stages.

On a computer you see a month grid; on your phone you get a running agenda of your upcoming shows. Tap any day to open a date, or tap a show to open it.

The life of a booking

A booking starts as a bare hold and works its way to a confirmed gig:

   Open ──► Researching ─► Contacted ─► Awaiting reply ─► Offer ──► Confirmed ──► Played
  a held ├───────────── working a venue ─────────────┤ it's on! you played it
   date
                                    └──► Declined / Cancelled (didn't happen)

1. Open a date

Tap a day and open a date. That’s a hold — “we’re free and want to play this night.” It has no venue yet.

2. Attach a venue and work it

Attach the room you’re chasing. The booking becomes a lead you can move through the venue hunt as things progress:

  • Researching — looking into the room
  • Contacted — you’ve reached out
  • Awaiting reply — waiting to hear back
  • Offer — they’re interested; you’re working out terms

Keep notes and the deal terms right on the booking.

3. Confirm it

When a venue says yes, lock it in — the show moves to Confirmed. It’s a real gig on your calendar.

muze won’t let you confirm two shows that overlap on the same night. Only one show can be locked for a given slot, so your calendar always reflects what’s actually happening.

4. After the show

Mark a confirmed show Played once the date passes — it stays in your history as a record of who you played with and where. A gig that falls through is Declined or Cancelled.

Chasing more than one venue for the same night

Not sure which room will come through? Open a booking for each option on that date and work them side by side. Whichever one lands, you confirm — and because muze blocks overlapping confirmed shows, locking one is your signal to let the others go.

Building the bill

Every booking has a lineup — the acts playing that night. Add acts from your network and give each a slot:

  • Headliner, Support, or Opener
  • Track where each act stands: Invited → Interested → Confirmed (or Declined)

Posters

Upload a poster to any show — the flyer you’ll post to promote it. It lives with the booking so it’s easy to find and share.
